Designer Notes:

The name Kathya is inspired by Katyayani, one of the 9 forms of the goddess Durga. This skirt is a true work of craftsmanship, as it is challenging to embroider along a curved edge without affecting the fabric’s stretch or shape. The process is detailed and careful, resulting in a stunning and comfortable skirt with Aipan-inspired hand embroidery that flows smoothly from one side to the other.

Construction:

This versatile skirt has a wraparound design with two sashes at each end and a hidden buttonhole at the waistband to securely tie it in a bow or leave it long. The flattering ruffled edge and unique asymmetrical hand embroidery make it both stylish and easy to wear. Thanks to its wraparound style, it doesn’t require any alterations, making it a great fit for a range of sizes.

Crafted from AZO free dyed handloom Khadi Cotton, every garment in this collection is thoughtfully lined with Chambray Khadi. This breathable, durable, and biodegradable fabric not only ensures comfort but also reflects our commitment to sustainable fashion.

Sizing Advice:

The Kathya Skirt is designed to fit true to size, with minimal stretch owing to the nature of handloom Khadi Cotton. For the best fit please follow the standard waist measurements. It is possible to take a size down than your usual due to the wrap around style.
