Introducing Nav - breathing new life into the dying heritage art of Aipan. An ode to the intricate folk art from Uttarakhand, this collection features delicate hand-embroidery on soft and naturally dyed organic khadi cotton. It is a blend of comfort, art, sustainability and high fashion.

Aipan inspired hand-embroidery has never been done before. We chose the name Nav because this is a new and innovative way of preserving and uplifting the heritage art.

Hand-embroidery does not use any machines. The process from start to finish is all done by hand. Not only does this take a lot of time, hard work and talent, it also means that no two embroidery designs are the same. Hand-embroidery is an art of India which originates thousands of years and has been passed down through generations of families, ultimately reaching you today as a cherished art form. 

Each garment is a combination of around 4 to 6 different types of embroidery techniques such as boota work, bharwa, chain, and French knot. Executed by our skilled artisans, these intricate methods require weeks to masterfully complete. These techniques have been faithfully inherited across generations within their families. 

Nav was exclusively launched at The Somerset Showcase (May 10-12, 2024).
